I grew up in the small town of Dundee, nestled in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York. It was the ideal place to grow up because it taught me to be grateful for what I have and content where I am, and how to find beauty in the ordinary. It is also where I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and began my journey as a Believer. I spent my teen years in a city called Binghamton, and I was blessed to be surrounded by godly influences who encouraged me to be more like Christ. While living in Binghamton I had many unique opportunities to grow in my faith and participate in mission efforts both stateside and abroad. Binghamton is also where I met my handsome, God-fearing husband.
My pastor always used to tell me that you have to keep running the race and keep your eyes fixed firmly on the prize, and not allow yourself to be distracted by people on the sidelines. Just keep running, and eventually you will find that someone is running next to you, with their eyes set on the same prize. Then you can just run together. And that is exactly how I ended up with David. We met in church doing ministry and outreach, and after a year of long distance dating we decided to run the race together as man and wife.
My husband is in the Army, which makes life a little bit unpredictable. We started our married life in Colorado, then headed to Virginia, and are now living in Louisiana for the foreseeable future. We have learned that it’s not really possible to make plans while in the Army, but we have some hopes and dreams for the next few years and are excited to see where God sends us.
